ATA Martial Arts of Springfield is dedicated to providing the best possible Martial Arts experience. Our staff is recognized for having phenomenal instructors that are not only talented, but care a great deal about the development and growth of our students.

  Master Richard Harman, 7th Degree Black Belt, is focused on training students to be respectful, disciplined, hard working Black Belts and creating the highest quality of instructors. Previous to beginning his own Leadership Training, Master Harman had a very successful NCAA Division I Track & Field career at Missouri State University. His Taekwondo competition career has spanned over 24 years and includes 4 World Champion titles in Weapons, 1 World Champion title each in Forms and Sparring. He is very passionate about being an instructor and the success of his students. He is also responsible for the continuing education and National Certification of other instructors across this part of the country and is the Assistant National Tournament Director for the American Taekwondo Association. 

  Kelly Harman, 5th Degree Black Belt, has amassed quite a list of competition awards. 6 time ATA Sparring World Champion and 7 time World Champion in weapons. She is a Nationally Certified Instructor of the American Taekwondo Association and is the Assistant Regional Chief of Tournaments for ATA Region 115. She is also a regional representative for the ATA in the education of future ATA Instructors. Mrs. Harman also holds an Engineering Degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia and had taught mathematics at Missouri State University in Springfield for 15 years. She is consistently on the ATA's "Top 10" point list for competition, is on ATA's national tournament staff, and is currently training for her 6th Degree Black Belt.
